The Spyderco Autonomy was developed in response to a request from the U.S. Coast Guard for a cutting tool that would meet the demanding mission requirements of their rescue swimmers. They needed a high-performance knife that could be easily deployed with only one hand while wearing heavy gloves, is impervious to saltwater, could be easily maintained and, above all, would cut with extreme authority. The result was the orange-handled Autonomy automatic, which is approved for use by Coast Guard personnel.
Because many of the features of the Autonomy were so revolutionary, Spyderco also decided to create an all-black version of the knife with a safety and a pocket clip that is ideal for other end users. The heart of this knife is its voracious SpyderEdge™ sheepfoot-style blade, which is ground from H-1® steel—an extraordinary nitrogen-based alloy that is completely immune to corrosion. To optimize its function in tactical environments where light discipline is a requirement, it receives a tough Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating to reduce its reflective signature.
The Autonomy’s finger-grooved handle is constructed with full stainless steel liners flanked by textured black G-10 scales. Its oversized firing button is powered by a spring that is integral to one of the liners and includes a sliding safety that prevents unintentional activation. Made exclusively from rustproof materials, the handle’s other metal hardware—including its reversible wire pocket clip—is also cloaked in a stealthy black coating.
The auto-opening blade of the Autonomy is powered by a corrosion-resistant coil spring nested within a removable module. Specifically designed for end-user maintenance, this patented feature allows the module and spring to be easily removed with the tool in Spyderco’s spring replacement kit (sold separately) without disassembling the entire knife.
Winner of the “Most Innovative American Design” award at the prestigious Blade Show and International Cutlery Fair, the Autonomy represents a groundbreaking achievement in automatic knife design.

A powerful synergy of high performance and low profile, the Manix 2 Black Blade is a reliable, full-service folding knife with a stealthy non-reflective finish. Its broad, full-flat-ground blade is precision machined from premium CPM® S30V® particle metallurgy stainless steel and coated with an ultra-durable black Tungsten DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. Matching areas of jimping (textured grooves) on the thumb ramp and the index-finger choil complement the handle’s refined ergonomics to offer an amazingly secure, comfortable grip.
Its handle is constructed with full stainless steel liners, a stainless steel back spacer, and textured black G-10 scales. It houses the knife’s high-strength Ball Bearing Lock mechanism, which consists of a hardened steel ball bearing encased in a polymer cage. When the knife is opened, a spring plunger drives the ball bearing forward onto a ramp on the blade, wedging it securely open. Pulling back on the cage releases the lock and allows the blade to pivot smoothly closed. Both opening and closing are easily performed with either hand and without ever placing your fingers near the blade’s edge.
A reversible hourglass pocket clip supports left or right-side tip-up carry, complementing the blade’s Trademark Round Hole and lock mechanism to make every aspect of the knife’s carry, deployment, and operation completely ambidextrous. Like the blade, all metal components of the handle feature a durable, non-reflective black coating that makes the Manix 2 Black Blade ideal for use in tactical environments where light discipline is critical.

A cornerstone in Spyderco's Save and Serve line up, the Military Model came about after someone asked Spyderco's owner Sal Glesser, "If your son were going into the military what folding knife would you send him with?" For certain, it had to meet the requirements of a high-performance, light-weight folder designed for hard use.
To create an even more subdued blade we have blackened the blade with a DLC black matte coating. Since the steel is the spirit of the knife, CPM S30V seemed the logical choice for the blade given its reputation for long-term edge retention and rust resistance. The 'Millie' has a modified clip-point blade coated in non-reflective black then laser cut with a 14 mm Spyderco Round Hole for quick deployment and for use with gloves. Texturing above the hole holds the thumb in contact with the blade's spine during cutting for confident control over the sharpened edge. The handle scales are G-10 with the lock's liner nested directly into the scale, pumping up lock strength without the addition of bulky liners. Spacers between the scales create a gap running the handle's full length exposing the inside workings for inspection and cleaning. The handle flares slightly at the front end creating a finger choil and at the butt end, which keeps the knife from slipping forward or backward in the hand while sawing or making tough or aggressive cuts. A contoured black metal clip is set for right-hand tip-down carry.

Spyderco's Police Model was developed in the early 1980’s in response to requests from law enforcement officers who wanted a slim, easy-to-carry folder capable of serious cutting performance. The result was the Police Model—one of the most enduring and iconic folding knives ever produced.
The classic version of the Police Model features a satin-finished stainless steel handle with chamfered edges for maximum comfort during use. This handle construction provides substantial heft and a solid foundation for the knife’s sturdy back lock mechanism, which features a Boye Dent to prevent unintentional lock release during use. Its blade is hollow ground from VG-10 stainless steel blade has a dramatic swedge (unsharpened bevel) for acute point geometry. Available with a PlainEdge™, SpyderEdge™, or CombinationEdge™, the Police Model’s blade also includes our Trademark Round Hole™ for swift, reliable, one-handed opening. A four-position hourglass clip completes the package, supporting tip-up or tip-down carry on both sides of the body and making the carry, deployment, and operation of this remarkable knife completely ambidextrous.
